WHO WE ARE

The Ness family has created a beautiful and authentic destination at Wilderness Pro, making you instantly feel like part of the family. Our passion is to share the Alaskan experience in a unique way, showcasing the beauty of the landscape and facilitating long-lasting memories that leave guests wanting more.

Marge and I have been happily married for 47 years and are co-owners of the lodge along with our son, Micah. We have lived this fulfilling lifestyle since 2007, building everything from the ground up. I am a full-time resident living out a childhood dream of an off-grid life in the bush, while Micah’s journey began at 16 with a big-game guide apprenticeship, eventually leading us to purchase this land together.

Today, I serve as a USCG licensed boat captain and guide, managing lodge operations and excursions. Marge manages the kitchen, meals, and housekeeping. We both grew up on farms in Western Minnesota and have raised seven children after moving to Idaho in 1983- an experience that prepared us well for this life.
