Cancellation & Refund Policy

Alaska is beautifully wild — and with that comes a bit of unpredictability. Weather and transportation in remote Alaska can change quickly, so we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip.

A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due 90 days prior to arrival for lodge stays and day excursions.

Cancellations are subject to the following:

Free cancellation for the first 48 Hours following reservation, as long as it is at least 120 days prior to your stay or excursion.

After the first 48 hours or 120 days, all cancellations incur a 25% fee of the total trip cost.

Cancellations within 120 days: 50% of the deposit is nonrefundable.

Cancellations within 90 days: 100% nonrefundable.

Weather & Travel Delays

Weather here can be unpredictable so travel in Alaska requires flexibility. Wind is the primary factor affecting lake travel. For the safety of our guests and crew, all decisions regarding delays are made at the discretion of the boat operator.

If Wilderness Pro Lodge must cancel an excursion due to unsafe winds or wave conditions, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

We do not cancel due to rain — it’s part of the Alaska experience. Please come prepared with rain gear and extra layers so you can stay comfortable and enjoy your time on the water.

Water Taxi Pick Up & Drop Off

Weather does not affect transportation between Port Alsworth and Wilderness Pro Lodge. However, wind can impact travel to remote drop-off or pick-up locations around the lake. Delays may last a few hours, a full day, or occasionally longer. Due to weather variability, we recommend building extra time into your itinerary whenever possible, especially for multi-day trips in the backcountry. We do not reimburse for any missed travel reservations due to weather delays.

For remote drop-offs or pick-ups, guests are required to carry a satellite communication device. We recommend a Garmin inReach. Satellite phones are another option, though they can be less reliable in the Lake Clark area.

Our lodge and excursion boat are equipped with Starlink service to help you stay connected while you’re with us.

Flights & Air Taxi

When booking your flights, please provide your arrival and departure details so we can coordinate with your air taxi as needed. We operate by reservation and are not staffed 24 hours a day. Please confirm available hours for your travel dates.

If you plan to take a water taxi on the same day as your flight:

For arrivals into Port Alsworth, we recommend a morning departure from Anchorage.

For departures from Port Alsworth, we recommend scheduling an afternoon or evening flight to Anchorage.

Port Alsworth is served by two experienced Alaska bush air taxi companies with well-maintained runways. Weather delays are always possible — though less common during summer months — and are simply part of travel in remote Alaska. While we are happy to assist with coordination, we are not responsible for delays, schedule changes, or cancellations made by air taxi providers. We strongly encourage travel insurance for all Alaska adventures.
